Vascular insult to the brain (stroke)
To be approved under this listing, a claim must meet any one of the criteria below — and the medical records have to prove it.

Sensory or motor aphasia resulting in ineffective speech or communication for at least 3 consecutive months after the insult.
In plain terms: After your stroke, has your speech or comprehension been significantly affected for at least 3 months?

Disorganization of motor function in two extremities resulting in extreme limitation in the ability to stand up from a seated position, balance while standing or walking, or use upper extremities — for at least 3 consecutive months.
In plain terms: After your stroke, do you have major motor problems in two limbs that have lasted at least 3 months — like trouble standing, balancing, or using your arms?

Marked limitation in physical functioning AND in one of the four mental areas, lasting ≥3 months.
