Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)

To be approved under this listing, a claim must meet any one of the criteria below — and the medical records have to prove it.

    Involvement of two or more organs/body systems with at least moderate involvement of one organ/system, AND at least two of: severe fatigue, fever, malaise, involuntary weight loss.

    In plain terms: Has lupus involved at least two organs or body systems, with one being moderately or severely affected, plus constitutional symptoms?

  2. C

    Constitutional signs (severe fatigue, fever, malaise, or involuntary weight loss) and limitation of activities of daily living, social functioning, or completing tasks.

    In plain terms: Are you also having severe fatigue, low-grade fevers, or weight loss along with the disease — and is it limiting your daily life?
